Many individuals affected by AIDS exhibit no symptoms and appear to be relatively healthy. Some will develop life-threatening illnesses, and others will be only mildly affected with symptoms that include:
• Fevers of unexplained origin that may come and go
• Weight loss for no apparent reason
• Night sweats—frequently waking up with sheets drenched
• Swollen lymph glands in the neck, underarm, and groin areas
• Chronic fatigue without cause
• Diarrhea
• White spots or a whitish coating in the mouth
As these symptoms are also the symptoms of a variety of other illnesses, one should seek advice of a competent, licensed, AIDS-informed physician if any of these symptoms persists for more than two weeks!
